Travel to Alexandria Bay to the 1000 Islands Winery to enjoy a wine tasting at the winery that brought vineyards to the 1000 Islands Region- even after Cornell University told them they would not be able to! You will sample 6 of their 22 varieties of wine. Afterwards, check into the Hilton Garden Inn in Watertown, NY for a 3 night stay. Dinner is included.
Enjoy a cooked to order breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast meet your tour guide and begin your exploration of the World Famous 1000 Islands. The Thousand Islands are a group of more than 1,800 islands in the St. Lawrence River, straddling the border of the U.S. and Canada. A fashionable retreat for the elite in the late 19th century, today the area is a hub for outdoor activities, stunning shoreline dotted with historic lighthouses, summer mansions and marinas.
1000 Island Lunch Cruise- The two-nation tour takes you on a 22-mile journey through what is considered the heart of the Thousand Islands into American and Canadian waters. This scenic trip gives you the best view of this truly unique geographical area shared by two nations and you don’t even need a passport! Your guide will provide a lively narrative as you cruise through the narrow channels, over historic sunken wrecks, and by magnificent summer homes of the rich and famous. They provide you with local historical facts and folk lore as well as information about the area’s geology, environment, and native wildlife. Enjoy a delectable hot and cold lunch as you cruise along.
Boldt Castle Tour- Stop at Heart Island to tour through the impressive Boldt Castle, built at the turn-of-the-century by George C. Boldt, millionaire proprietor of the world famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. Built to replicate a full size Rhineland castle, the structure rises an impressive six stories and is perched on the “water access only” on this stunning island!
Travel back to the hotel and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Singer Castle Cruise- Cruise through the 1000 Islands while enjoying a lively narrative of the sights on your way to and from the mysterious (possibly haunted) Singer Castle. While at the castle, your tour guide will share the unique history of the “hunting lodge” of Commodore Frederick Gilbert Bourne. The tour is a 45-minute narrative tour of the historic structure. You will be treated to four floors filled with furnishings and artifacts original to the castle. You will see the entrances to many of the secret passages, and of course speculate on their purpose. There are 80 steps up from the Great Hall, so wear your walking shoes!
Alexandria Bay- Amidst the gentle waters of the St. Lawrence River there is a place like no other: Alexandria Bay, New York. Paradise awaits you! The friendly historic village is filled with eateries, shops, souvenirs, tradesman and more! Time to explore, shop and enjoy lunch on your own in the heart of the 1,000 Islands!
Antique Boat Museum- Located in the 1000 Islands on the St. Lawrence River, the Antique Boat Museum is the premier freshwater boating museum in North America. The collections hold over 300 unique boats and thousands of related artifacts and archives. The 4.5 acre campus comes alive with speed boat rides, a working skiff livery, and the longest running annual boat show! Later in the evening you will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Return to hotel for a restful sleep.
