Travel to lower Manhattan to enjoy a day on your own. Visit the new Little Island located at Pier 55 a 2.4-acre public park in Hudson River Park on the West side of Manhattan. Barry Diller of the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation, in partnership with Hudson River Park Trust leadership, embarked on the unique opportunity to envision a solution and reactivation of Pier 55. Diller chose to reimagine an entirely new type of public space for New York, one that would create an immersive experience with nature and art. Take a short walk (3 to 5 minutes) to the Highline a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. Saved from demolition by neighborhood residents and the City of New York, the High Line opened in 2009 as a hybrid public space where visitors experience nature, art, and design. Lunch on your own at nearby restaurants or Little Island has food vendors on Little Island. Lots of walking, wear comfortable shoes!  Includes: Motorcoach, lunch on your own
